Program Quality, Risk Strategy Director

About the role

World Vision is seeking a senior leader to drive program quality, risk management and strategic planning across its operations in the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. The Director will ensure that all programmes are evidence‑based, community‑driven and compliant with donor, partnership and safeguarding requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and periodic review of national strategies for both countries.
• Oversee annual business planning, results frameworks, scorecards and performance reviews.
• Align area programmes, grants, humanitarian response and national priorities with strategic objectives.
• Provide strategic advice on emerging development trends, risks and opportunities.
• Drive scenario planning and organizational adaptation to changing donor, government and community priorities.
• Ensure high‑quality programme design, monitoring, evaluation and learning systems.
• Implement the Programme Quality Framework and oversee quality assurance reviews and audits.
• Integrate child wellbeing outcomes across all sectors and support adaptive learning.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in programme quality, risk management and strategic leadership within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, safeguarding standards and government regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in scenario planning, performance monitoring and evidence‑based decision making.
